Yes, Stoke are poor, but so were we, very, very poor until last Saturday when we seemed to have turned a corner.
It's the performance and effort that is important at the moment, and we can't be faulted on either.
The performance we need right now is simply to stop leaking goals and beat the teams in our peer group to move clear and stay clear of relegation.
The indications are that we can and will do this because the effort and determination are back and with this win, which in the bigger picture is a very big win, confidence will grow too.
Moyes has to take credit for this turnaround, his tactics, coaching and clearly the motivation (carrot or stick..) is clearly working right now.
Yesterday we played very well and a couple of the players, albeit against a poor side, really expressed themselves as they can do and the win was convincing.
But Brighton are a 'poor' side, Huddersfield too and we were crap against both just scraping past H'field.
I look at this as a revival and it looks built on a solid foundation.
IMO whether we 'like' Moyes or not, he's got us playing solid, playing well, and building confidence and therefore deserves our support.
For the 1st time for a very long time there is some optimism about the team.

Brilliant performance, amazing what a fit and motivated team can do. Confidence should be soaring now, pity the cup game is next week could have done with a decent break before the holiday matches.

Was described as Hughes and Arnautovic ‘clashing’
Seems to me the player was coming off the pitch and was confronted by a foul mouthed abusive rant from Hughes before having objects thrown at him.
Should be a stadium ban for Hughes til March (Stoke may arrange that on a permanent basis) and the area behind the benches should be closed for the rest of the season.

Best away day for time! Days like today make all the pain and bollocks we go through worthwhile.
So many good performances across the pitch. Special praise for Rice who came on and looked like a seasoned pro. We have a proper player here.
There is simply nowhere on the planet I would rather be than in our away section when the players are performing on the pitch.
Only problem is I might have to check myself in to a loony bin if I hear the Masuaku song on repeat in my head for much longer!!

That, for me is one of the best things about today. So many times in the past we have done shit like that but today we really stuck it out. OK, we rode our luck a little at times and they had two good chances. I'd like to have seen us play a little more in the 2nd half and there was a period early on in same half when we were under real pressure a clearing it aimlessly, but you have to feel Moyes knew they needed the win and would expose themselves to the counter the longer the game went on.
Watching again on MotD (not necessarily the most reliable indicator, I know) we should have scored 5. Not often we've been able to say that recently...

Don't care if Lanzinis pen was a bit soft we've had so many go against us it was pay back time.
Arnie was fucking amazing today, of course the shit he was getting from the northern wife beaters helped motivate him and that won't happen every game but maybe just maybe we might have another mad Di Canio hero in the side!
